♔WONDERFUL TONIGHT♪

sitting back and sipping a drink while watching all the haters hate on Wonder Girls

cos wow sometimes butthurt is just so loud

I donno. You’d think kpop fans in general would be supportive of a kpop group trying to break into America and pave a path, but some people just can’t be happy. (I try to disregard the ones who called Wonder Girls and JYP in general a SHAME to kpop. Shame on you, JYPEntertainment, for daring to have different groups with different sounds and different faces and different faces. How dare you try to bring a sense of variety to kpop. But I digress)

I just

lol whatever because

a.) you DO have to try to cater to the market you’re breaking into. That’s how marketing works. You wouldn’t try to sell dentures to a child, just the same you can’t sell something to a market who isn’t yet ready for it. I personally feel ‘Like Money’ does really well with trying to balance the Wonder Girl’s kpop sound and something more suited to the American market. Before you throw kpop into American music, you need to warm people up to it, because face it: people are still going to reject it for being Korean/Asian/”foreign”* When you go to a new country, you have to try to give that market something they’ll cleave to. Look at U-Kiss’s Japanese album - not an album completely full of reworked Korean songs, but new songs for Japan

So when you heckle about how Americanthe song sounds and you like them better when they sounded Korean andit’s such a forgettable song, you remember: itis American. It wasn’t createdfor Korea. And frankly…. uhm???? Pretty sure it’s possible to enjoy kpop as well as English-spoken music.

b.) at least someone from kpop is trying to pave that path! Shouldn’t you, I don’t know, be supporting the movement in hopes in time more kpop artists can infilitate the airwaves? Like, I donno. I keep seeing things about how Wonder Girls shouldn’t be in America or XX group should be doing instead. But look, XX groupisn’t, so why don’t you help support them so that XX group can make their way there

BUT I TRULY AM INCENSED TO SEE PEOPLE CALL WONDER GIRLS AND JYP IN GENERAL A SHAME TO KPOP BECAUSE W O W SORRY THEY HAVE SOME VARIETY GOING ON YOU KNOW????

like, fine, if you stan a different company that is OKAY but there is NO reason you should be putting down another company. Doing that makes me wonder if you feel threatened or something, which is completely silly. Frankly, it’s really rude and unnecessary. Especially when you call them theshameof the kpop industry. PRETTY SURE THERE ARE SOME COMPANIES WHO HAVE BEEN ACCUSED OF TRULY HORRIBLE ACTIONS who would be better suited for the title “Shame of the kpop industry” Stop dissing other companies, stop dissing my flawless kweens AND NEVER CALL JYP OPPA A PIMP EVER AGAIN >:\

* foreign denoting not of English-language, cos we know Canadian and British music is foreign as well but you know~

JJ Project | Bounce MV

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL ;A;

LIKE

THIS IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL

AND ALL THE COLORING

AND ALL THE ANIMATION AND aljfldjalkjd

I love these kids :3 best showcase of their sillinesssss

I keep listening to JJ Project’s single and wondering “Will I ever get sick of this???”

and a day later of many, many hours of play, I can safely say no no I’m pretty sure I love each track just as much as I did the play before it.

(In fact sometimes I feel like I love Bounce more and more as I play it)

It’s just so GREAT and different than what I usually listen to in kpop! And JYP oppa is just alfjdlkjad he’s basically FLAWLESS okay? Like. This western/Asian fusion is KILLING me in a great great way. And Bounce is so hip hop/punk rock fusion and the abrupt transitions TOTALLY work for me and it’s just so FUN and CATCHY and then you go on to Hooked (upon which I most certainly AM hooked) which starts out like the damn Beastie Boys or something and then morophs into something SO 90s pop it almost hurts. It’s like LFO meets 5ive and my inner elementary school self is jumping up and down on her bed. And alfjdlkjfalkdjfkaljda Before This Song Ends HNNNNGGGGHHH with Suzy bb and her juniors (!!!!!!!!!) AND YES I’LL DANCE WITH YOU ALL OF YOU OH GOD I just groove to it the entire time and dig it so much.

It’s like, a great club album. Not so much Hooked, though I think the nostalgic musical value really offers something. I think it can kind of appeal to westerners who aren’t AS into kpop, too, just because it sounds familiar while still being different and intriguing enough and just so catchy. Like, Before This Song Ends and Bounce would (will?) make great club songs. The entire time I listen to Bounce, I catch myself dancing without even realizing it.

At this moment, my favorite is a toss up between Bounce and Hooked. I can’t pick. I won’t. There’s so many evocative old school pop feels that I just want to roll around in the music and feel like I’m in elementary school all over again.

(That’s what it does - it takes me back to grade school: to the playground, to the grounds out front where we spent some recesses hiding in bushes and forming pyramids and playing soccer and chasing each other around, talking about Britney Spears and arguing about N’Sync vs Backstreet Boys and the last Disney channel movie and oh god oh GOD this album gives me all the feels)

Ugh I love this. I need more. :|

JJ Project pls release a mini or an album soon ;~;

Basically I love this and don’t expect to grow bored/tired any time soon.

WELCOME TO MY BIAS/STANNING LIST JJ PROJECT!
